Tie Fa Part 2 - Jazz Island Coffee for lunch

Up 2 flights of stairs Jazz Island Coffee had comfy couches (I think we all wanted to take a couch home to swap it for our beds). The waiter spoke very good English. The water came with a hint of lemon and when when we ordered orange juice and apple juice it was actually real juice (a rarity it seems). Heaven!

After a bit of confusion for both us and the waiter we went halfway down the stairs again and pointed to some pictures on the wall.

Unfortunately not all the pasta dishes were on the menu so we all wound up having the same dish.

When the dishes arrived (after complimentary soup) we were shocked to see the mountains of pasta on the plates. We all wondered how we would manage to eat it all. (Luz looks more worried that Colette). It was like a plate of pasta that never ran out. We were all saying that the pile never seemed to decrease no matter how much we ate! Eventually we gave up trying.

At the end of the meal we made the waiter promise that he would find out some fun things for us to do/see next time we visited Tie Fa. Apparently they do hot chocolate so Colette and I are looking forward to trying some next time. With a giant plate of waffles!

We went to catch the short bus back to Tieling after lunch. I think we sat on the bus for nearly 30 minutes while the driver and his helper spruiked the bus trip to people passing by. Eventually we took off and it seemed the driver was keen to make up time. I've never 'got air' while sitting on a bus before and the whole driving in the middle of the lanes is a little scary at first. Oh well...when in China.

Hi Pa

It's a mix of rice and noodles. We have rice with every meal. The dishes we ate at the Jazz Island Coffee house were the Chinese version of 'Western' pasta.
